Short answer: Ras Mohammed is a national park at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, close to Sharm El Sheikh, protected since 1983. A private yacht lets your group visit its reefs at your own pace. Each visitor pays a park fee, which at the time of writing is USD 5 for foreign visitors and EGP 25 for Egyptians, with children under 7 free. Your quote says whether the fee is included.

What Ras Mohammed is
Ras Mohammed National Park was established in 1983 and includes a marine reserve. It is one of Egypt’s best-known protected areas for snorkelling and diving. Because it is protected, the rules for visitors are stricter than on an ordinary beach.
Park fees
| Visitor | Fee per person |
|---|---|
| Foreign visitors | USD 5 |
| Egyptians | EGP 25 |
| Children under 7 | Free |
How a private trip to Ras Mohammed works
- You send a request with your date, group size and swimming level.
- A concierge checks with licensed operators and sends a written quote with the boat, the operator’s name, the departure point, the duration and what is included.
- On the day, the captain chooses the stops based on the sea and the park rules. Safety comes first, and the route can change.
Ras Mohammed fits a full-day private charter or a snorkelling day. For which boat suits the trip, see speedboat, motor yacht, catamaran or sailing yacht.
Rules inside the park
- Do not touch, stand on or break coral.
- Do not feed the fish.
- Do not take shells, coral, stones or any living thing.
- Leave no rubbish in the sea or on the shore.
- Follow the crew and the park rangers.

When to go
Boats go to Ras Mohammed all year, but wind and port decisions can stop or change a trip on the day. If that happens, you choose a new date or a full refund (see our booking terms). Season by season details are in the best time for a boat trip in Sharm.
